What is it?
Friday Next is a concept store that is located in the middle of the capital city of the Netherlands, Amsterdam. Paulien de Vries and Esther Blaffert founded Friday Next in 2010 with the idea to develop a new concept with a timeless design. It is a new kind of shop that has a demand that consists of all kind of different ‘combinations’ to attract different people. Friday Next offers a combination between interior design, fashion, design and it has also a tiny restaurant where you can order all kind of different biological food and drinks, like gluten-free sandwiches and cocoswater. After that you have also the possibility to order a really delicious cupcake!
Why is it cool?
Friday Next is cool because when it started in 2010 it was one of the first concept stores in Amsterdam and in The Netherlands what makes it a trendsetter and a respected shop in the city.
In this year that the owners founded the company they didn’t stood still but they keep developing the shop to a unique experience for the customer. This is also a quality of life because people can come to Friday Next to shop their home accessories and fashion outfits and afterwards they can sit back and relax with a nice view of the Overtoom (a famous shopping street in Amsterdam). The shop has a great growth potential because they keep innovating and give young people like me (I walked intern at Friday Next in 2014) a chance to add value to the concept store. On top of all the many possibilities that Friday Next offers, they have a exhibition room under their shop where (famous) artists can show their creative work, like painting and photography.
Conclusion
This idea of a concept store is very cool because it is much more than just a interior shop or just a shop where you can eat and drink something. In my opinion the coolest thing of Friday Next is that they bring people together who all like different kind of things as eating, design and clothes.
